My Experience with the Wonderful Local Church, Karla M. Ugarte

Hello! My name is Karla Ugarte. I'm 26 years old and I was born and raised in Mexico City. When I was 12 years old the Lord's Recovery started to grow in Mexico and my parents, who were Christ-seekers, saw the truth and reality of meeting as the local church in Mexico. I grew up with many other Christian brothers and sisters as one huge happy family in the local church. Every year my family and I started to attend summer and winter conferences given by our dear brother Witness Lee and our love and faith for the Lord Jesus grew stronger. God gave our family the opportunity to migrate to the United States when I was 18 years old. We moved to the city of McAllen, Texas and started to meet with other seeking Christians as the local church there. During my freshman year in college at the University of Texas Pan American I realized that I needed to take the Lord in a more profound and serious manner. The Lord Jesus had done so much for me all my life that I was totally captivated by His love. I decided to consecrate my life to Him and vowed that after I finished my career I would give Him two years to be trained and perfected in God's Word, so that I would be equipped to serve Him full-time. In May 1998 I graduated from college as a high school teacher and in August of last year I went to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim, CA.

This is my second semester in the training. I feel so privileged and happy to be here following the Lord with 200 other young college graduates who also love the Lord. My family is still in the local church in McAllen, TX. When I graduate from the training I hope the Lord will send me back to McAllen to help preach the gospel for the Lord's move on this earth.

My Experience of Christ through Brother Watchman Nee and Brother Witness Lee's Ministry

If it weren't for Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's ministry regarding how to experience Christ, I may not have had the opportunity to fully enjoy the wonderful riches of our dear Christ. Their ministry is not just religion or mere theology, but it is focused on Christ as the center and reality of our human existence. I can truly testify that the Lord has used our dear brothers to recover many truths in the Bible which for years were not clear to us. Furthermore those truths are revealed not merely as objective knowledge, but for our experience of the dear Lord Jesus as our everything. I feel that the Lord's mercy has brought me to His Recovery where He has been more real to me and where I have seen that the Lord's plan for me is simply to enjoy and express Him.
